Social Networking - the Magic view

Whilst networking is fast becoming not only an essential business activity but a “competency” in many organisational development frameworks, online or social networking remains an activity about which many organisations are still holding judgement.

What are the key arguments for and against? What evidence is there for either side? And what are business leaders thinking about online networks?

This event will provide some practical tips for the effective use of online networks as part of an overall networking strategy.

Stephanie Peckham of The Magic of Networking is a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD and holds an MSc in HR; she is a qualified performance coach, mediator and an enthusiastic and experienced administrator for a range of personality tools (MBTI, MBTI Step II, 16PF).

Since joining Magic of Networking in 2005 Stephanie has delivered many successful coaching and training programmes across a wide range of organisations and sectors, aimed at providing and enhancing both strategic and practical networking skills.

The session was interactive and interesting and I enjoyed the discussions on the different topics. I would have liked more on the benefits of using something like linked in as the only positive examples used were in recruitment, which is a niche rather than common use. I would like more information on using networking for lead generation.

Good idea - certainly helped to move people around & mix more which was appreciated by a number I spoke with. The discussion in the groups tended to be quite repetitive and overall I didn't think there was enough content. It is was still enjoyable and interesting if a little light-weight.
