Leading HR in a Recession

Leading HR in a Recession

Wednesday 4th February 2009

Jane Saunders

Managing Partner

Top Do’s and Don’ts for HR to lead in an economic downturn

This topic has been specially slotted into our events list due to the current economic climate.

What should the role of HR be in a recession? Should they forget the lessons of the last ten years and revert to the safe territory of ‘hirer and firer’, assembling assessment criteria and writing redundancy cheques? Or is now the opportunity to demonstrate that HR deserves its seat at the Board by acting as a true business partner and delivering real value in difficult times?

Different actions are needed to deliver great HR service both as the recession starts to affect the organisation, and once the full effects of the recession are felt and it is useful to understand the indicators at each stage and the pressures they create for HR.

Jane Saunders , Managing Partner at Orion Partners, the UK’s leading HR Transformation consultancy will share her top Do’s and Don’ts for HR to lead in an economic downturn.
